One of our ambassadors, Steve Groft, was present in Rome at a Conference on regenerative medicine (reforming or replacing body parts or organs) with the focus on genes and stem cell therapy.<\/p>\n

The conference focussed on for instance patients and their families, rare diseases, cancer, getting older, research consortia and networks, philanthropy, production, distribution and storage of potential products. Pope Francis has met during the conference many people.<\/p>\n

During his speech the Pope addressed the following items:<\/p>\n

  1. More empathy in our society.<\/li>\n
  2. Increase awareness.<\/li>\n
  3. The importance of research.<\/li>\n
  4. Access to care.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
