Siblings

“Having a sick child also impacts the entire family, and sometimes the siblings are overlooked.”

If your brother or sister has a condition, most of the attention (out of necessity) may go to the child with the condition. As a result, the other children in the family may receive less attention. They often adapt completely so that the rest of the family is not burdened by them.

This can lead to problems later on. This concerns children and young adults between 0 and 23 years old who grow up with a sick family member. This means they have a brother, sister, father, or mother with a physical and/or mental condition.

We have developed a practical brochure, available in multiple languages, titled When Your Brother or Sister is Ill.”
