In the Netherlands, patient organizations are taken very seriously.
The Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (HWS) enables patient organizations to do their work by providing subsidies, for example. In addition, patient organizations are involved in all kinds of policies and activities in many areas of healthcare.
We as an organization are a member of the Chief Experience Officers Council (CEO Council) of the Ministry of HWS with the aim of becoming directly involved in policy and policy development.
INVOLV is an independent organization within the Ministry of HWS. INVOLV is a knowledge and advice partner for parties that are committed to the quality of care and quality of life, such as patient and client organizations, care providers, health insurers, governments and researchers. They inform, advise and train in effective and sustainable input from the patient and client perspective.
We have been using the services of INVOLV (free of charge) for years.
