On 4 July 2026, it was time once again for our annual Family Day! This year, we once again chose Efteling, mainly because it offers attractions and activities for visitors of all ages. We deliberately organise our Family Day in July, when the park is open until 10:00 p.m., allowing families to make the most of their day. Many of them certainly took advantage of the extended opening hours.
This year, we welcomed 88 participants from Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands. Several children had even prepared a list of all the attractions they wanted to experience.
We started the day with a warm welcome at ‘t Poffertje, where delicious themed pastries were waiting for us. It was a wonderful opportunity to begin the day together in a relaxed atmosphere. The weather was perfect for the occasion—around 25°C (77°F) with dry, sunny conditions. After the welcome, everyone set off to enjoy their first visit to the park. We noticed that many families explored the park together, having already met during our Family Weekend in May.
At 1:00 p.m., it was time for an extensive lunch buffet. Once everyone had enjoyed lunch, the families headed back into the park for the afternoon. New members were warmly welcomed into the CMTC-OVM family, giving them the opportunity to get to know others and build new connections. For many returning families, it was a joyful reunion with friends they had met at previous events.
One of the highlights of the day was seeing how naturally conversations started—not only during the welcome reception, lunch, and afternoon snack, but even while people were waiting together in line for attractions.
At around 5:00 p.m., we organised another gathering point at De Vorstelijke Vrieskamer (“The Royal Ice Cream Parlour”), where everyone enjoyed a delicious ice cream. Despite serving more than 80 ice creams, the three staff members worked at an impressive pace—they had fortunately been given advance notice of our large group!
We look back on a wonderful day together, filled with fun, meaningful connections, and space for every emotion.
