Hi there! My name is Arianna Faro; I am 32 years of age and was diagnosed with Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome at birth. KTS manifests itself a bit differently in each patient, but for me it impacts my left leg, foot, private areas and heart.
As a result of the condition, I have endured over 50 surgeries and more than 100 hospitalizations. On a day to day basis, I am forced to grapple with severe pain and bleeding. I also struggle with depression and severe anxiety.
I have always believed that a person should not be judged based upon the obstacles they are presented with, but rather the way in which they try to overcome them.
Despite my disease and the challenges it presents me with, I am determined to live life to the absolute fullest; I feel as though we inhabit this Earth for such a miniscule period of time, and I do not want to take a single breath for granted.
I am more than my disability…while it is undeniably a part of me, it is not the entirety of why I am. I hope to spread that message to others who are struggling with illness of any kind as well. No matter what obstacles you are facing, you are undeniably worthy of living a happy, fulfilled life. I am thankful to have the opportunity to write for this page, and look forward to getting to know you guys!
