When you grow up with CMTC or another vascular anomaly, a lot changes. Not only in your body, but also in your mind, your social life, and the way you look at the future. You may have questions about treatments, self-confidence, relationships, work, or studies. And you may notice that information intended for children or parents does not always fit where you are in life right now.
That is why we create dedicated content on this site specifically for you as a young adult.
Because your situation is unique.
You are no longer a child dependent on your parents, but you are also not always done with doctors, treatments, or questions about your condition. You are in the middle of life — and at the same time, you may still have uncertainties that you cannot always or do not always want to discuss with others.
We do not want to overwhelm you with medical jargon or childish explanations.
Instead, we aim to provide reliable information that truly fits your life, covering topics such as:
How do I deal with visible marks on my skin?
What do I tell new friends or someone I’m dating?
What are my rights at school or at work?
Can I travel or study independently with my condition?
What does my condition mean for my future?
We know it can sometimes feel like you are the only one. But you are not alone.
We work together with young people who have lived experience and create content with their input. Sometimes these are blogs, videos, or interviews — always honest, relatable, and without judgment.
CMTC-OVM is there for all ages. But we want to offer extra support to you as a young adult during the phase in which you are finding your own path — with your condition as part of who you are, but certainly not the whole definition of your story.
Do you have ideas, or would you like to share something yourself? Let us know. This part of the site is yours too.
