Laurens Rorive – Communication

My name is Laurens Rorive and I am Otis’ father.
Otis was born in 2019 with marks covering his body, and so began our medical search. Fortunately, four days after his birth, we ended up at the Sofia Children’s Hospital for the WEVAR (WErkgroep VAatafwijkingen Rotterdam – Vascular Malformations Working Group Rotterdam) consultation hour. Due to his young age, we are still in the middle of the search for a diagnosis. The pediatricians from the WEVAR consultation hour pointed us in the direction of this organisation. The information on the CMTC-OVM website has really helped us and we’re well supported by other members.

In my role as a board member, I hope that CMTC-OVM will be able to reach more parents in the same way that they helped us.

Day to day, I work as a procurement coordinator for, among others, the municipal health service (GGD).

I am married to Naomi, and as well as Otis, we have two other sons, Mason and Phaelan.
