Teleangiectasias

Telangiectasias are actually small blood vessels (capillaries) that are visible because they dilated (widened).

This may be present in cases of rosacea or after the prolonged use of very strong hormone creams on the face. There is a whole list of diseases associated with telangiectasias and at the suspicion on any of these diseases the doctor will do additional research. Usually, however, it is innocent (teleangiëctasia essentialis or essential telangiectasias). In children the more frequent is the ‘spider Nevus (Nevus araneus)’. Telangiectasias are also more common in women, pill use, during pregnancy or having liver diseases. The most beautiful results, if someone wants to change the appearance is by the application of laser therapy.
